Go on take the plunge!

October 2, 2013 by annalie

Lauren had been a fan of Alter Ego’s vintage pictures for quite some time.  It had taken her ages to pluck up the courage to book a shoot for herself but finally she took the plunge and what a fabulous time she had.

This stunning picture of Lauren using the studio’s vintage, rotary dial telephone is a classic pose from the 50’s. If you search the web there are some lovely shots of film stars talking on the telephone, especially some of  the magnificent Marilyn Monroe.  Oh, how glamorous they look!  Today’s equivalent of celebs on their iPhones just don’t cut it!  ;0)

Lauren’s scarlet nail polish even matches the phone to complete the perfect shot.

Scarlet polish was the colour to wear on your nails in the 50’s. Brands that we know today such as Cutex and Revlon brought out polishes in the brightest reds with fab names like “Cherries in the snow” and “Cute Tomata.” With movies in glorious Technicolour – every woman went wild for bright red lips and nails worn by Rita Hayworth and Hollywood sirens of the time.

Vintage rolls complement Lauren’s 50’s-style hater-neck dress.
