What to bring
For a boudoir shoot: the only essential things to bring are a pretty matching bra and knicker set, a pair of hold-up stockings and a selection of high heeled shoes and sandals. You might also want to bring: stockings, suspenders, baby doll, corset and a mans white shirt. Bring lots of accessories and jewellery.
For a pin up shoot: photos in underwear are optional - if you want them please bring a matching vintage style bra and knickers set and a suspender belt. Bring a pair of stockings or tights with with a seam and a pair of high heeled court shoes. If you have a corset or other vintage style underwear bring those. Apart from that we have everything you need in our dressing up box!
If you want to treat yourself to some new lingerie for your shoot try our friends at Joanna's Wardrobe. They have a fantastic range of modern and vintage styles and offer a 15% discount for Alter Ego clients. We'll send your discount code with your booking confirmation.
Pre-shoot consultation
When you get to the studio we'll spend some time chatting over a glass of fizz or a coffee. We'll look at the outfits you've brought, look at some example pictures and decide what studio sets and shots will work best.
Hair and makeup
You will have your hair styled and makeup applied by a professional hair and makeup artist. Your stylist is an expert in photographic makeup and modern and vintage hair styles so you can be sure of looking your best. If you have any allergies be sure to let us know. Hair and makeup takes about an hour. Your stylist will be available throughout your shoot for any touch-ups required.
During the shoot
You'll probably be nervous at the start of your shoot - most people are! Don't worry though, you'll be looked after throughout your shoot by Lola who's had a shoot herself so knows exactly how you're feeling. Lola will help you into position and demonstrate the poses to you. When everything is ready Martin will take the shots. Martin's an expert in using lighting and poses to emphasise your best bits and hide the bits you don't like as much.
Before long we promise you'll be having a ball! We take frequent breaks during the shoot and there will be plenty of fizz in the fridge if you need a little extra help!
Choosing your pictures
After your shoot Lola will select the best shots which she will then edit to perfection. Bumps and blemishes will all be magicked away. You'll then be invited back to the studio to choose your favourite pictures. You'll probably love them all, but we've got an easy system to help you select the ones you want to buy. We have lots of options for displaying your pictures. A few weeks later your beautifully gift wrapped images will be ready for you.
